Ring-NET Joins the Abekas Family

November 13, 2015

Ring-NET, one of eastern Europe’s foremost telecoms and broadcast dealers and systems integrator is now the authorized Abekas dealer covering Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, and Ukraine. Headquartered in central Budapest. Founded by CEO, Tibor Orbán in 1996, Ring-NET was established to solve the most difficult challenges facing broadcasters as they transitioned to all digital and later IP infrastructure. Ring-NET also advises telcos, as they combat the decline of their traditional landline businesses by deploying high-speed fiber and offering IPTV pay services to subscribers. Ring-Net has been at the forefront of some of the earliest and largest IPTV and OTTP digital services in the region.

Ring-NET has been an Abekas dealer a short time and yet they have achieved early success with the Abekas family of products. One such customer, Dogan Media, part of massive Turkish company, Dogan Holdings, produces live TV shows for Romanian television. The stringent broadcast decency guidelines in Romania bestow stiff penalties on broadcasters who let oral obscenities, rude gestures or nudity air, so Dogan Media approached Ring-NET to solve the problem. The solution was the Abekas AirCleaner product installed in the broadcast control room. Operated during live programing, AirCleaner’s unique “audio jumble” and “video defocus” effects ensures that no offensive content passes even the most stringent broadcasting rules.

“Tibor’s technical background and knowledge of both the telecom and broadcast markets in the region is a big plus for us,” said Junaid Sheikh, CEO, Abekas. “Ring-NET has enjoyed some early successes with our product line and judging by the interest we saw from his customers at IBC this year, the future of the partnership is bright.”
