LAS VEGAS, NAB Show, Abekas Booth SL5713—April 10, 2015— Abekas announced today that the Mira™ Instant Replay and Mira Production multi-channel servers now support full 1080p 3G ingest and playback without compromising channel count. This represents a major step forward in the industry where most vendors support high-bitrate formats by combining the bandwidth of multiple channels.
Abekas has been at the forefront of disk technology applications for the broadcast industry for over 25 years. The company pioneered lossless disk recording and has been awarded multiple technical Emmys for its contribution to the broadcast and post production industries. Abekas continues this technology leadership today by delivering multi-channel video servers supporting both 1080p 3G and UHD 4K.
Based on the AVC-Intra 100 technology introduced by Abekas last year, Mira servers deliver the industry-standard 1080p and UHD 4K at the same price as the 1080i servers. This means a customer with either an eight-channel 1080i Mira Instant Replay or Mira Production server can upgrade to eight separate 1080p or two UHD 4Kchannels at no additional cost.
“We have always pushed the envelope of disk technology at Abekas,” said Junaid Sheikh, CEO, Abekas. “Some of our competitors only support high bandwidth applications like 1080p and UHD 4K by combining channels, which means much higher costs when channel count is important. We have delivered an uncompromising solution for our Mira multi-channel servers without sacrificing channel count.”Abekas Delivers Uncompromised
